Gas Ejector boosts LP gas well production & reduces condensate loading

Application

A major North Sea Gas Operator was concerned that production from some existing low pressure gas wells was not guaranteed because they were susceptible to condensate loading. A reduction in the FTHP of these wells would increase production rates resulting in an increase in velocities and thereby minimising condensate loading. Operation of the LP Wells would be secured and the project costs quickly paid back by the extra revenue generated.

Solution

Transvac was requested to evaluate the use of a Gas Ejector to boost the production from the low pressure wells, utilising energy from a high pressure well. The pressure of the high pressure well was 8 barg and the export pressure was 5 barg. It prove economical to use the high pressure available to motivate a Gas Ejector, instead of wasting its energy across a choke valve.

Transvac Universal Design Gas Ejector

By reducing the average FTHP of a series of wells from 5.5 barg to 3 barg, the proposed Transvac Gas Ejector would boost production, resulting in an increase in tubing velocity which would minimise the potential for loading. Based on this performance, the payback of the project costs would be less than 88 days.

Universal Design Gas Ejector

Designed specifically for the Oil & Gas Industry, Transvac's new Universal Design Gas Ejector (patent pending) offers a number of important design features that increase operating flexibility.

  • Internal components can be easily replaced to match changing well conditions
  • Support shell can be installed before actual well conditions are known
  • Fast-Track manufacturing service for new internal components after well conditions are confirmed
  • Internals simple to install
  • Standard pipe fittings used for body

The operator purchased two Transvac Size 20 Universal Gas Ejectors designed so that only the internal parts would require replacing periodically as thw well conditiond change over time. 600lb rated Clamp type connections were specified to make the installation of parts fast and simple.

The units were manufactured and designed by Transvac, on a fast-track basis, in accordance with ASME VIII Div.1 with full non destructive testing, third party inspection and documentation in accordance with the code and client requirements.

All of Transvac's design and manufacturing processes are quility assured and certified to BS EN 9001 and we are also registered with 1st Point Assessment
