Application A small sewage treatment works was failing it’s effluent consent standard because the existing Brush Rotor Aerator was not providing enough oxygen when demand was high. The racetrack designed Oxidation Ditch was 30 m long by 6 m wide and 1.3 m liquor depth. It was established that an additional oxygen transfer rate of about 8 Kg O2/hr would be enough to supplement the Brush Rotor and the new Aerator would be controlled by a D.O. probe via a simple Control Panel. It was important that the new Aerator was simple to install, would not require emptying of the Ditch and could be removed via a Davit lifting assembly. Solution Transvac supplied and installed a free standing Venturi Aerator / Mixer complete with 7.0 Kw Pump, Control Panel, D.O. Meter and Davit lifting assembly. The horizontal jet action rotated the Ditch contents well and the measured D.O. rose quickly. | | Free-standing Transvac Venturi Aerator installed in the ditch | |
