Application

To aerate and mix effluent on a food processing plant in two 10.24 m dia. by 7 m high balancing tanks and to control any foam produced. The effluent liquor level varied from 3 m to 6 m and the Ph from 5.5 to 6, small solids were present and the average liquor temperature was 35 deg.C.

Solution

Transvac supplied and installed two externally mounted Venturi Aerator / Mixer systems model TVATM108075 complete with 7.5 Kw screw type Centrifugal Pumps.

The air entrainment stacks were each fitted with two additional connections into the tanks. The first connection, with isolation valve, was positioned below the minimum liquor level and allowed the units to be easily transformed into liquid / liquid jet mixers (no aeration). The second connection was positioned just above the liquor surface which enabled the units to entrain and dissipate any foam produced by the process.

Transvac Venturi Aerator / Mixers entrain atmospheric air using motive liquid energy from a Centrifugal Pump. Efficient oxygen transfer is achieved by high shear contact within the body of the unit and further contact within it’s turbulent discharge plume. Aerated or non aerated liquid / liquid jet mixing models are available.
